President-elect Donald Trump jeopardizes the global economy through his promises to block Middle East oil imports for the purpose of creating an energy independent United States, according to petrostate Saudi Arabia.
Over the course of the two-year American election process, Republican nominee Trump promised on the campaign trail to divest U.S. interests from our foes and the oil cartels, referring mainly to the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), of which the KSA is the largest producer and de facto leader.
At his heart President-elect Trump will see the benefits and I think the oil industry will also be advising him accordingly that blocking trade in any product is not healthy, Khalid al-Falih, chairman of Aramco and Saudi Aramco Oil Minister, told the Financial Times in Marrakesh, where world leaders are currently negotiating the nuts and bolts of the landmark 2015 climate change agreement.
Saudi Arabia is the U.S. largest Middle Eastern oil supplier, though the North American country gets most of its energy from domestic and Canadian sources.

Killing 3000 Americans wasn’t healthy either.
You’ve all lived 15 years longer than you should have.
We should have wiped them out after 911 and then taken the oil to cover our expenses.
Exactly........
The house of saud will become the house of sad.
We don’t import that much from them anyway. I think he means don’t try to flood the market with cheap West Texas Intermediate crude oil (or whatever they get out of shale).
LOL
Are they series?
There is nothing written that the House of Saud must rule Arabia. Give it back to the Heshemites, they seem more stable.
Sound like a threat, Khalid. Nice little Mecca you got going there, Shame if anything happened to it.
Or what? You are going to dedicate your lives on spreading sharia here, killing Americans all over the world. .....oh wait.
I’m sure there will be no attempts to prevent Saudi Arabia from competing in the global markets. However, the US need no longer be beholden to them, nor any other country in the defunct OPEC.
OPEC. an embargo on you is long overdue.
Saudi Arabia would revert back to the sand pile it once was if we stop buying their oil. Trump will open oil drilling in public land. Add new finds in Texas and the Keystone pipeline and we would have enough oil for hundreds of years.
We're becoming energy independent in the next four years, so deal with it.
With the new deposits discovered in Texas, who cares what the Saudis think.
“Killing 3000 Americans wasnt healthy either’
Let me elaborate. These Sunni Wahhabi bastards facilitated and directed the attack on 911 right out of their damned embassy and their ambassador to the US — Bandar and his wife who personally paid money to the hijackers and their handlers. I pray that Trump retaliates in full.
How about 500 KT warhead on the Haj a-holes?
God Bless You for you answer.
Someone ACTUALLY replied to me before asking what if 19 rogue Americans attacked a Saudi tower.
I almost threw up.
Saying that to someone from NYC is sickening/disgusting/ignorant/demeaning.
The US only gets 2.5% of the oil it consumes from Saudi Arabia.
I realize this sounds ridiculously low, but it’s true.
As of 2015, the US imported 24% of the oil it consumed, the lowest level since 1970. Saudi Arabia was 11% of imports.
