Huckabee, an ordained Baptist preacher and electric bass player, will become the tip of Trump's spear as he seeks to shake up U.S. foreign relations in the Middle East, beginning with relocating America's embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
'That's going to happen,' the transition official said. 'Governor Huckabee is going to see it through.'
Despite congressional approval for the move, American leaders have historically tap-danced around the issue of where in Israel America's diplomatic footprint should fall. No other nation has its embassy in Jerusalem. Still, Israel's Knesset and Supreme Court are located in West Jerusalem. And the nation captured East Jerusalem in the 1967 'Six-Day War,' taking control of it from Jordan. A 1980 Israeli law still in force declares that 'Jerusalem, complete and united, is the capital of Israel.'

So much fun watching Trump put together his Dream Team!
Go, Trump, GO! MAGA!
If this happens, it will be a very good gesture, I think.
+10
Good man. Give him a drummer and the RSBN guitarist and make a record.
This article is a bit misleading. U.S. leaders haven’t been “tap-dancing” on this at all. Every president in the last 20 years has simply been forced to deal with a stupid U.S. law that did nothing but muddy the waters of State Department protocols for foreign embassies in disputed areas.
Then Israel’s peaceful muzzie neighbors will have their @zzes handed to them like many times before.
Only...moving our embassy to Jerusalem will not provoke a peep from Pres. Al-Sisi of Egypt. Obama will be gone & Al-Sisi will know he’s on the winning side.
praise God
Winning!
they should have dealt with it by actually moving the embassy to Jerusalem
Perfect pick.
Trump ain’t taking no prisoners!
Excellent!
Huckabee should make a good ambassador in Jerusalem
and he will be representing AMERICA, not a foreign infiltrator enemy of USA (and Israel, for that matter)
the next step is to see who Mr Trump appoints to be our Sec of State. If he can find someone with the strength and determination to CLEAN IT UP (and get all the Nazi types OUT of the Snake Dept!)
.... SUPER DUPER!
Clean it all up, Donald!
Go Donald!
I’d expect that an attack on our embassy would be considered and act of war, and we would respond accordingly. Hopefully enemies with more than one working brain cell will figure that out and be chastened.
That is what we deplorables out here in the middle of flyover nowhere refer to as a “bitchslap” of epic proportions.
Let the rabid knuckledragging muslims rattle their sabres.
Apropos of nothing in particular, that struck me as sort of amusing.
More shrieking from the Left incoming. I can't wait for the posts stating that it's proof that Trump's a Nazi... :-D
The embassy itself doesn’t have to be attacked. He can be a target when he is out and about, or even at his residence.
Did you ever wonder why they didn’t? The original law is probably meaningless anyway, since it established a May 1999 deadline to move the embassy. The deadline wasn’t met, and Congress never enacted the 50% reduction in the State Department budget that was supposed to be put in place as a consequence.
That should be considered an act of war as well.
well, I’m not exactly sure why the threat to his safety jumped out at me as a risk, but it really did. There are plenty of people over there who would say “bring it on” to an act of war— in organized groups and otherwise.
It just dawned on me. The Left would like the whole country to be one giant safe space where opposing thought is banned for fear of hurting the feelings of the protected classes. Sweet, smiling,... fascism.
I’m not saying the move to Jerusalem should not be made. I agree with it. I’m just saying it will be an act of heroism to lead it.
