The coolest, I don’t know how practical it actually is/was, concept I saw in recent years was the proposal of the arsenal ship.

It was supposed to hold something absurd like 300+ cruise missiles. Basically though it had to return for servicing after firing its payload and was a one shot done for the war type system.

Honestly though, how many wars/conflicts would we get in where we’re hurling 300+ cruise missiles at a time.

Sounds like a few of the Russian destroyer designs, fire off the anti-ship missiles and run like hell, you are out of ship-ship ammo until you get back to port.
