'Public Enemy No. 1' of the teachers' unions is eyed by Trump team for Education Secretary
Daily Mail ^

The Donald Trump transition team is eyeing former Washington, D.C. public school chancellor Michelle Rhee for Secretary of Education, multiple sources close to the transition tell the Daily Mail.

The appointment of Rhee – who has been dubbed 'Public Enemy No. 1' of the teachers' unions -- would be a bold move by the Trump team, and a signal that his administration is gearing up to take an aggressive stance on education reform.

It would also cut across partisan lines. Rhee is a lifelong Democrat, and a proponent of Common Core, a set of federal education standards that is opposed by many conservatives and Donald Trump.

You can make book on that they are scouring forums such as this and are, along with the Never Trumpers who never changed only went under cover, sowing the seeds of dissension at every opportunity. The surprising thing is that anyone would fall for their crap. From now , November 17, 2016, even though he has not assumed Office yet, until he leaves the White House, there will be a false story [lie]aired about Donald every hour of the day and night. It would not surprise me if it was not every minute of the day and night. It will be by the main stream media and the Never Trumpers posing as Conservatives, friends of Donald. And them showing their true colors, as enemies of Donald.

Abolish the Dept. of Ed. Since its inception, U.S. students have decreased in competence as shown in international scores. We now score below Bangladesh. Abolish every agency that was not functioning in the 1950s. They are not worth the price, as we have only regressed since then.

Michele Rhee symbolizes both what is wrong with education and what is wrong with education reform. Her marriage to Kevin Johnson had gotten her out of the public realm where she Was making things worse. She Was for Common Core too. Like Hello! Why doesn’t he just appoint Hillary if this is who he is going to appoint?

Exactly the perfect choice.

She brought test scores up in problem schools in Washington, DC., and her way of doing it got her railroaded out of town by the teacher's union with the mayor's office assistance.

OK, thanks for that. When a woman publicly reverses her opinion after discovering she was very wrong about something, it usually sticks solidly. My experience, anyway. Perhaps she has discovered the lunacies in Common Core and has flipped on that, also. I would need to hear it directly from her to believe it, though.

Thanks for the link. I feel a lot more optimistic about her after reading that article.

Common core is still a deal killer though. If she now agrees that common core must die then she would be a good choice.

Getting rid of Common Core is really good news. I've seen it in action. I've touched it. It's as bad as advertised.

I'm hoping there are some FR Common Core Legal Whiz Kids with nothing to do today but answer this hopefully simple question.

Here you go. Assume that Trump gets rid of Common Core.

What will happen in California? Can the Dems who run California keep Common Core?

I'm betting they can and will. it's that bad. They won't be able to resist.

Michelle Rhee is a sleazy, ineffective, utter fraud with an out-of-control ego. A bad choice for a dept that shouldn’t exist. No one on this site is a more careful observer of the ed system than I am, and she would be nothing more than affirmative action window dressing. Larry Arn would be a better choice, but the best choice would be to abolish Carter’s “legacy”.

SCHOOL CHOICE will be the final solution in thought control. I hope Trump learns more about this. Here is a footnote that was cited by a skeptic of school choice in her article that I thought was very revealing. http://invisibleserfscollar.com/antithesis-of-the-briar-patch-school-choice-as-the-snare-instead-of-an-escape/
“A good way of mitigating it [state legislatures or governors trying to control schools or their new mission in the future], however, would be to design institutions around fully decentralized authority and then install them through constitutional amendment. The legal foundation of the new system would then be very difficult to change or violate once put in place.”

There’s also the fact there’s no delegated power for federal regulation of education among the several States to contend with.

Each state should be able to do what they believe is best. Liberals want to impose their ideology at the national level so that voters and taxpayers will not be able to flee to other states.

Pay attention to what Rhee married AND her role in covering up his scandals:

http://www.nationalreview.com/article/425667/comeuppance-obama-crony-michelle-malkin

Under no circumstances should she EVER be in a Trump administration. If she weren’t a two-fer she wouldn’t have gotten the DC job, where she was ineffective.
