“comb the entire building for phone taps, bugs, hidden cameras and anything else the America haters might have left behind.”

That’s what I told my husband a few days ago. His own personal security needs to handle that.

It will be interesting to see how Trump redecorates the Oval - Melania, Ivanka and a designer are probably already working on the carpet design, drapes and furnishings.

I did a little research and found this article and pictures interesting:

http://www.whitehousemuseum.org/west-wing/oval-office-history.htm

From this article:

“The Oval Office in the White House has undergone a countless number of renovations over the years with new carpeting, furniture, and drapery installed for every U.S. President. Every President is given a renovation budget of $100,000 , but they don’t typically reach that amount even when they use the funds to install solar panels or to construct a bowling alley.

In the past few presidencies, Obama used roughly $50,000, George W. Bush used a little over $60,000, and Clinton used a little under $40,000. While the color of a rug might not seem like such a big deal in the grand scheme of things, a President’s approach to the renovation can affect their image to the media. Obama’s “less optimistic” renovations caused some in the media to see him as austere, while Nixon’s royal blue and gold-colored rug was said to reflect his sense of “exulted importance.”

President-Elect Trump should just relocate to Camp David.

Bill Clinton had the White House phone system downgraded to older technology because he didn't want the traceability back to the exact extensions that newer technology provided.

It’ll take a year to get the stank out.

I think you have the solution! I invite Trump to the least discovered place in America.

I have a biggish house and could certainly put up Trump in the basement after it was bunkerized and becomes the total communication center of the current known universe. If we and he and his group did it carefully, no one in the world would know he lives or works here. My neighbors NEVER exit their home by the front door and no one plays in their gardens or walks these beautiful lanes. It is hard to believe we have a town.

If he appeared in a rusty heap of a van and pulled into the downstairs portion after coming down Hall Street (Station St) he could disappear for days. Feeding him and his group might be a problem as we are in a food desert. I know he could figure that out.

When he got tired of his work, he could come up stairs and meditate. I have a beautiful meditation room...though some liberal guy thought it was a teen ager’s room with the Hubble photos on the wall. I guess he could hear the Om Mane Padme Ums...

Anyway, sigh, the invitation is open!!

“...Trump will not have the oval office...”

I do not find this credible. Trump can and will fix any issues with the room quickly. A year? Really? This is Trump’s area of expertise. I call BS - sounds like leftist media spin to me - this is another incarnation of the fake polls type of lying stories that the media dreams up.

Trump does need to make sure there are no bugging devices though.

I’m sure TRUMP doesn’t care. He want’s to stay in his New York digs anyway. Why move down and into government quarters when you already live in a palace? Of course, security could be a huge issue.

Hmmmm. Strikes ME as a tailor-made reason for Trump to skip the White Hut and work out of Trump Tower for at least the first year. No point LIVING in DC if his OFFICE isn’t in DC. Of course, there’s his new DC hotel.

Good. Trump can bring in a WH historian to put things back where they belong. Egad, did you see the Yellow Room where Moo served tea to Melania? That was the most depressing room ever. Shabby. Dirty. The couch pillow had a huge stain, the candle sticks were wonky and the fireplace needed cleaning and that threadbare rug needed to be retire decades ago. If that’s what goes for housekeeping, they all need firing. The rest of the place needs to be gutted of all the Kenyan and what could pass as refrigerator art. And for gosh sake, take the garbage to the curb rather than leaving it at the back door for visitors to walk around.

I’m all about cutting down on government spending and right before the tea had posted we didn’t need to waste $$$$ on redecorating every 4 years. I was wrong. It’s an embarrassment. That dump needs to be taken down to the studs.
