“No problem. If the Cal State University system refuses to cooperate with federal law, President Trump and the Republican Congress will just refuse to provide the university system with federal funds.”
California has no leverage. Trump won’t win the state in a reelection bid anyway. Think about it a moment. If they are not going to vote for him any way then why try to compromise? Make California an example and then threaten other state systems.
Agreed. That was my point. The Cal State University system depends on federal funds to operate. No funds = no university. And since the state is completely locked up by the democrats, there is no blowback for Trump or the Republican Congress.
To wit, the California Legislature is now over 70% Democrat. They have a super majority and can pass any damn bill or measure they please which means higher taxes, more social services, more illegal aliens, more of everything that liberals love. But there is one caveat: California depends on federal funds more than any other state, so while the Democrats are pass legislation to everything and anything they wish at the state level, they cannot actually bring it to fruition without federal funds.
Trump has got them by the short and curlies.
