As a society, we have to be a little more respectful of Darwin's Theory in these matters than we have been. We can't continue to allow "just kidding!" / "drunk!" / "angry!" to be any defense at all in these kinds of matters. When you know that the punishment for making an explicit threat against the President is as immediate and complete and irreversible as slipping on a wet rock at the edge of a cliff, you'll be more careful what you say or write.

Agreed. There should be cameras every square inch in a prison or jail. Some caught raping or helping a rape, inmates are all summoned and the perps are executed right there in front of them.

Well said. I've always hated it when people even joke about this.

Such assaults can only cause more damage, as those who have been victims are released back into society, suppressing untold amounts of rage which will inevitably manifest itself in further anti-social behavior.

There should be severe penalties for the commission of such a crimes in any setting, especially prison.

There's just nothing that can justify it...

Despite all the anti-Trump protests and assassination threats, the press is emphasizing instances (real or faked) of Trump supporters writing racist graffiti, etc. I would like to see a tabulation of these things nationwide, to see if more mischief is being created by pro- or anti-Trump individuals.

In particular, since so many accusations of harassment and intimidation are vague and unsupported by specific information, I would like to see a tabulation of actual ARRESTS or pro- and anti-Trump individuals. My gut feeling is that anti-Trump arrests probably outnumber arrests of pro-Trump people by a factor of 10-1, if not greater. (In fact, I bet it is at least 20-1.) But only Donald Trump has been asked to tell his supporters to settle down.
