WASHINGTON — President-elect Donald J. Trump’s transition operation plunged into disarray on Tuesday with the abrupt resignation of Mike Rogers, who had handled national security matters, the second shake-up in a week on a team that has not yet begun to execute the daunting task of taking over the government.
In a statement on Tuesday, Mr. Rogers, a former congressman from Michigan who led the House Intelligence Committee, said that he was “proud of the team that we assembled at Trump for America to produce meaningful policy, personnel and agency action guidance on the complex national security challenges facing our great country,” and that he was “pleased to hand off our work” to a new transition team led by Vice President-elect Mike Pence.

Yes. Rogers sided with the Democrats on Bengazi. This is great news.
My take on Mr. Rogers not continuing on is this. Mr Trump is a very successful business man. As such he appoints people based upon qualifications and not whom they know or seniority. DC works first on seniority, then who you know, and maybe your qualifications will be about 5th or 6th down the list.
I have no concerns about Mr. Rogers dropping out. I firmly believe that Mr. Trump has found somebody else who fits to the position based on that person's qualifications.
That is why the libs and rinos do not have a clue.
Obviously, for some reason we may never know, Mike Rogers was not a good fit for the implementation phase of the transition.
This reminds me of a sea story: It was my first time sitting at the Reactor Control Panel at S3G as a trainee. The Reactor Operator asked me what I would do if the Rod Scram lights came on. I said I would immediately reach up and open the Scram switch to match the indication. He said, “No! You will cross your arms and look at all of the indicators to see if the reactor has actually scrammed. After you assess the situation you will then decide what to do.
So, a campaign leader left when the transition leadership team was in place, and somehow that is a meltdown. Seems like the way things should work, if you ask me.
Prior to his time in Congress, where he chaired the House Intelligence Committee, Rogers worked for the FBI as a special agent. He currently makes appearances on CNN as a commentator on national security issues
