There is a long history of Sig Sauer. I'm a big Sig fan and used to follow the transition from Switzerland to Germany to Exeter, New Hampshire.

Very few pistols are produced any longer in Germany (DE).

The exceptions are the high end, match grade pistols like this on from their German custom shop.

This, and my Dan Wesson Valor are my two most accurate and fun to shoot pistols.
