City of San Diego taking a tough stand.

The city of San Diego, which provides a test-bed for local cyber security start-ups, has used PacketSled for about two years.

“The personal comments recently posted by PacketSled CEO Matt Harrigan on a social media site will be handled by PacketSled internally,” said a city spokesman in a statement. “Meanwhile, the city will continue to work with PacketSled, and we trust that they will continue to provide exceptional service as they resolve their issues.”

He threatened the life of the President-Elect, and he needs to go to jail. The City of San Diego should hang its head in shame.

Hey, it’s just a liberal threatening to murder the president-elect. It’s all in good fun. No need to enforce the law.

My youngest thinks saying “I was only joking” would get her out of anything. She learned the lesson that it doesn’t work. Now it is that joker’s turn.

> This is an outward manifestation of absolutely terrible judgment.

Can you imagine what would happen if a FReeper said the same thing towards the One? Jim would be getting a call within minutes from the SS. As much as we don't like the guy we know this is a big no no and secondly it wouldn't solve any problems. It would just exacerbate them. Of course we're intelligent to realize this. Obviously the leftiess don't. Of course, they dont' think you have to play by the same rules though because they're "special".

This guy personally threatened to K I L L the President elect of the United States. He should immediately be arrested, interviewed, tried and severely punished to send a strong message that this lawlessness will no longer be tolerated.

I’m pretty sure the Secret Service can “out-expert” that security expert when it comes to security of the President.

Remember that the LEFT has much greater ‘respect’ for feelings so long as it is a feeling for the LEFT! Total forgiveness in that direction but not to the right or for the conservative. Bias? The Let just can’t FEEL it!

The company acted responsibly. The Board of Directors immediately suspended him and reported him to the Secret Service. Another post says he has now resigned. Would you have the city terminate its reportedly successful, long term contracts with the company just to punish a person who is no longer even with the company? What about all the other innocent company employees who may lose their jobs if such an action was taken by the city?

In addition, the City of San Diego government does not even have a role in prosecution of a violation of federal law. And he is still liable for federal prosecution. I doubt that will happen. If the Feds prosecuted every liberal who posted some stupid, unfiltered, butt hurt, meaningless threat about Trump on social media in the immediate wake of this particularly nasty election, they would probably need to build a hundred plus new prisons to house them all.

Given the man’s age and position as CEO, he probably had a leading role in developing the company to the point where it was attractive to investors and could be taken public. All that personal investment and effort is now gone. Instead, he is out of a very good and probably well paying job and has trashed his professional reputation in a fairly tight and gossipy community; all because he let his temper get the best of him. It will take him years to recover from this self-imposed debacle. Assuming, of course, he learns to control his temper better.

Being a security expert has the implication that he would know techniques the average person would not in order to carry out his designs.

He was the founder is now out thanks to the internet warriors

The PacketSled Board of Directors accepted the resignation of President and CEO Matthew Harrigan, effective immediately. Fred Wilmot, the company’s Chief Technology Officer, will serve as interim CEO while the Board of Directors conducts a search for a permanent replacement. We want to be very clear, PacketSled does not condone the comments made by Mr. Harrigan, which do not reflect the views or opinions of the company, its employees, investors or partners.
