PepsiCo CEO: Employees are scared for their safety after Trump's election
Yahoo ^

Posted on 11/13/2016 9:49:34 AM PST by TigerClaws

PepsiCo's CEO said the election of Donald Trump as president was terrifying her employees.

"I had to answer a lot of questions from my daughters, from our employees. They were all in mourning," PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi told Andrew Ross Sorkin at The New York Times' DealBook conference on Thursday.

"Our employees were all crying," she said. "And the question that they're asking, especially those who are not white, 'Are we safe?' Women are asking, 'Are we safe?' LGBT people are asking, 'Are we safe?' I never thought I would have to answer those questions."

After congratulating Trump for his success, Nooyi, who supported Democrat Hillary Clinton in the presidential race, said everyone in the US needed assurance of their safety.

"What we heard was election talk," she said.

Nooyi also said she was disgusted more generally by the language that has been used to discuss women in recent months.

"How dare we talk about women that way," Nooyi said. "I don't think there's a place for that kind of language in any part of society, not in locker rooms, not in football players' homes, not in any place. And, if we don't nip it in the bud, Andrew, this is going to be lethal force that's going to take over society."

Nooyi said there was an overemphasis on candidates' soundbites and social-media-ready quotes throughout the election, which resulted in a failure to discuss real political issues in a nuanced manner.

Ultimately, Nooyi told Sorkin she thought Americans needed to unite and accept the outcome of the election.

"The process of democracy happened," she said. "We just need to let life go on."

Here's is the full video of Nooyi and Sorkin's conversation:

NONE of these products will ever enter my home as long as she is their CEO.

Yup,let's see how many tears they shed when they've lost their jobs!

We can all help these poor timid souls. Let’s boycott Pepsi so that they have layoffs so that there will be fewer Pepsi employees.
When they are no longer Pepsi employees, perhaps they won’t be so scared.

No one is safe under communism.

That’s what “progressives” having been moving this country towards.

Hopefully Trump will reverse that course.

The lives of many of us in health care changed dramatically as a consequence of the last administration, as did the lives of many people in other industries. These reactions to Trump’s election are ridiculous.

If so, I'd blame the mainstream media for it's irresponsible, incredibly biased, scare-mongering coverage of Trump and his supporters. I'd also blame a growing childishness being encouraged in the American people by modern-day liberalsim - the people crying and asking if they are safe are a sorry replacement for the pioneer men and women who settled this nation, fought two world wars and turned it into a superpower.

Pepsi used to be the Republican soft drink brand. Also General Electric and others now they are all Democrat and elitist. And GOPE establishment pols are still interested in just cutting taxes for these people and telling the rest of us to shove it.

“The process of democracy happened,” she said. “We just need to let life go on.”

No no Nooyi - only a little smidgen of democracy happened.

If real democracy had been happening in America, you problay wouldn’t be here. Divorce would be ‘at fault’. Abortion would be illegal. Gay marriage never heard of. Permitless carry everywhere. And so much more.

PepsiCo is now dead to me and my kin.
