Los Angeles (AFP) - When would-be immigrants Bernardino and Samuel got word in Mexico of the election of Donald Trump, they immediately gave up their plans to cross illegally into the United States.

The rhetoric that originally fueled the billionaire populist's rise to power was built around his ambitious promises to deport the 11 million undocumented immigrants living in the US and to build a "big, beautiful, powerful wall" along the border with Mexico.

Now, with the New York Republican's stunning victory Tuesday, fear and uncertainty are surging among undocumented immigrants. Will their workplaces be raided? Will there be mass expulsions? Greater obstacles to gaining legal status? What will happen?

Trump said all illegals who are criminals will be immediately deported. He will deal with the others after all existing immigration laws are once again enforced and the wall is built.

IMO if the existing laws were strictly enforced, a huge number of illegals will self-deport. (no jobs, no freebies)

Home invaders are not house guests.
If you broke into my country, get out before you are deported and get in line to do it the right way.
If we have to deport you, it will be a 10 year wait.

“Get out! Then try to come here legally! “

No, just get out.

He had no legal authority to legalize any illegal alien. What he did was blatantly illegal. The only reason he got away with it was because our opposition party did not oppose him on DACA.
They should have been in court the next day seeking an injunction. Instead the states had to get that injunction to stop his SECOND illegal amnesty for illegal aliens, DAPA.
Both of those actions exceeded his authority and both will be done away with.

All immigrants have green cards and are required to carry them.
In states that comply with SAFE Act, drivers licenses are secure proof that they either produced a green card or a birth certificate.
It’s easier than you think.

We need immigration enforcement, not immigration “reform”.

The crimaliens need to go—every last one of them.

It can’t be done half a$$ed. Trump can’t flip on it. Nor can the house or senate.

The laws are in place. The House and the Senate are not needed for enforcement.
What we needed was a President willing to enforce them, which we have not had for decades.
Now we have one.

Just saying I’m leery of the Feds....no matter who’s in office. I don’t whole heartily trust any them.

Same with my wife's family. Norwegian immigrants, they came over and endured the screenings and lived a poor life in the beginning. It took them 2 generations to move up into what I would call a middle-class blue-collar lifestyle. The 3rd generation is now at least partially college educated and contributing to some amazing stuff in industry.

They didn't come looking for a handout, they came looking for opportunity and were willing to work hard for it. Their hard work paid off, and the beat goes on.

THAT is what being an American is all about.
Remember, the last four letters of AMERICAN are

I CAN.
