GOP To Use Previously Unheard Of Tactic To Slam Dunk Trump Agenda

The Republican congressional leadership is seriously considering an unprecedented procedure to guarantee that its and President-elect Donald Trump’s highest priorities are quickly this novel procedure would enact a sizable chunk of the Trump/GOP agenda without opponents having much…or perhaps…any influence on the outcome.

The Republican congressional leadership is seriously considering an unprecedented procedure to guarantee that its and President-elect Donald Trump’s highest priorities are quickly enacted soon after Congress convenes next year.

The key is “reconciliation,” the part of the congressional budget process that allows highly controversial policies to be considered in the Senate without any possibility of them being filibustered.

But reconciliation by itself isn’t the unprecedented procedure; it’s the novel way the leadership plans to use reconciliation: For the first time in the 4-plus decades’ history of the congressional budget process, reconciliation may occur twice in the same year.

Trump will get more good things for America done in his first 100 days than politicians have for the last 100 years which is really nothing , mostly amnesties, more government , bad trade deals , more loss of freedom , more spending, more regulations , more debt.more 3rd world immigrants, more taxes etc. .that’s true with only a few minor exceptions with Reagan and Ike .But Reagan was fooled into signing an amnesty and never did nothing against Japan’s unfair trade practices which Trump was warning about even then in the 1980’s.

In fact it seems Trump has already got more done in 3 days after getting elected with no power yet.Imagine 8 years of Trump

Yet many freepers assured that this canadian snake oil salesman Cruz was to be trusted . what a laugh huh? Boy did we dodge a bullet with Cruz

Look I love the attitude of your post and all. A good King with unfettered power can do great good. An evil king with unfettered power can do irreparable harm. We should think this through. It is supposed to be a great big ship with a tiny rudder.

Spend the political capital while you have it. In two years, we don’t know what the voting public will do. We might lose one house of Congress. . . . so prioritize now and go after the biggest targets while the Repubs have both houses AND the presidency.

Be not afraid.

“Obamacare”
After months of heated town halls, all negative, the bastages slipped it through Christmas Eve, 2010. To their credit, not a single GOP senator voted for it.

Ram it down their `rat throats!

I will ask you again since you avoided the question.

What has “The Process” you speak of done for you?

Today we hold the house and Senate. Tomorrow we don’t. Do we want to void the process?

This can only be done because rats didn't let us pass a budget for FY 2017. They reap what they sow.

This is creative thinking. Since the Congress didn’t pass a 2017 budget in 2016, they can pass it in 2017.

Then 6 months later they can pass the 2018 budget. Two budgets, two reconciliation bills. No filibuster. I like it.

More importantly, I want liberal policies completely repealed and/or defunded. I don't want them "run better." I don't want to hear any of this crap about how Washington needs to work together.

That is what a couple here are asking for.

Our country is on the brink because of decades of “the process”.

Anyone who delays infrastructure project funding needs to go home.

That would be Mitch McConnell. He's said that infrastructure spending isn't of interest to the Senate this year.

You are correct in your thinking. This was put into action when Sen. Kennedy died and Sen Brown replaced him.

Reconciliation as a tool is a topic that is already being discussed on the political talk shows, no way it is being kept quiet.
