He said protestors were travelling across the bridge eastbound, and a car with multiple occupants in it was travelling east. One person was holding a gun, Whitten said. Multiple people got out of the car, got back in, then they drove a short distance. Multiple people get back out of the car, and one person fired into the airm then shot a demonstrator in the lower body, Whitten said. His account has not been independently confirmed. Officers have cleared the bridge, and several police vehicles are on the bridge. That area of the bridge is considered a crime scene, and officers in riot gear are blocking access to the bridge.......

Officers should not have allowed the bridge to be blocked in the first place.
You are probably right about some drug connection.
One thing for sure, the suspect is not described as a ‘white guy driving a pickup truck flying Confederate flags’.
If he had been, this would be a worldwide news story by now.

This is what happens when the police do not do their jobs and keep streets and roads open.
The police’s duty is to the law abiding citizens, not riffraff blocking a citizens lawful right of passage.

I’m a bit torn here, between calling the rotestors “vandals” for breaking windows or “public servants” for burning the Starbucks.

Where I live they mostly prey on each other. Generally, it’s very possible outside victims may have superior fire power.
