I wouldn’t trust Chris Christie to fetch the donuts, much less any important job.
You may not like Christie, but he was one of the top surrogates for Trump who has a reputation for rewarding loyalty. He earned a seat at the table and while some here will grumble about it, he was pretty damned effective at creating a season of joy for all of us.
Hannity asked Priebus flat out last night if he’d been asked to be COS, and he said those discussions were not happening.

I've been around New York City too long to place a lot of trust in these people.

The two of them are very similar in their public demeanor, too. They come across as genuine people because they're not afraid to tell you what they think, and they really don't give a sh!t if it pisses off a lot of people.
I would give Kellyanne Conway just about any position she wanted.

Chris Christie will probably have a slot somewhere. But Trump will end up regretting it. Christie is as easily caricatured as Trump, but not nearmy as clever. He’ll be a lightning rod.

Newt has stated this a couple of times. Maybe a “tzar” position if you will to accomplish this. I do not think he is interested in a cabinet position.

My thoughts exactly on Newt. I’ve tried to like him over the years, but he sticks his foot in his mouth every time. I love to listen to history from him, but he just doesn’t have it for some reason. Newt should of been President, but his mouth got the better of him over the years.

I have always loved Newt, BUT Newt can be a liability (Pelosi/couch) Newt is not “loyal” enough for chief of staff position.

Christie has talent and in a way you are right - he was a very unlikely guy to win the Governors mansion of a state like New Jersey!
I don’t know where he lands, but he will land somewhere. We are less than 72 hours removed from one of the happiest moments of my life that was created by a most unlikely hero who worked his butt off like nobody I have ever seen enduring non-stop BS, and already I am reading suggestions that he jettison one of his top surrogates who worked hard to get him elected even when few thought he had a chance?
I know it is not intentional on the part of most FReepers because we are used to chattering about everything, but this is also a form of hubris (on our part) and I know I have been guilty of it too.
We will not like everything Trump does or every person Trump chooses, but he earned the right.
Bottom line -
I know some of you don’t like Christie - too bad.
I know some of you don’t like Newt - too bad.
I know some of you don’t like Rudy - too bad.
They are three of the most important members of Team Trump. We have to get over our past grudges against each of them because they helped create the excitement and optimism that we are feeling now. They earned forgiveness in my book for any past sins. It’s a new day for all of us and they earned a new day as well.
Fox has just announced Chris Christie is no longer in charge of the transition team. Mike Pence has taken that roll.
Yeah, one of the cable channels made a documentary a couple of years back where they interviewed all the past Chiefs of Staff. The job sounds like an absolute pain in the arse. Definitely a younger man’s game.
