George Will: A disruptive yet ruinous triumph for the GOP
New Hampshire Union Leader ^ | Nov. 9, 2016 | George Will

Posted on 11/11/2016 5:46:49 AM PST by libstripper

At dawn Tuesday in West Quoddy Head, Maine, America’s easternmost point, it was certain that by midnight in Cape Wrangell, Alaska, America’s westernmost fringe, there would be a loser who deserved to lose and a winner who did not deserve to win.

The conservatives in those states got lazy, just like the Dems did in Minnasota, and Wisconsion.

Instead of people, like on FR, just going on about “damn Yankees” moving into the state, they need to keep count of themselves, and make damn sure they are all registered.

They also need to tighten up their voting laws, not just sit on their ass for 4 years and then bitch and moan about “soros machines” and make voter ID laws that easily just get struck down a month before the election.

Texas and Georgia have NO EXCUSE for that.

If these guys want to stay relevant they had better hold their fire. It is a bit early to proclaim ruin and destruction now. Their words will be thrown back at them in a couple of years.

He didn’t campaign in those states as much as the battleground states.

In Georgia the vote for the Democrat was around the same amount as usual - Mid 40 percent mark. The difference is that the Libertarian got twice as much as usual. I have no evidence but I suspect this was protest votes against Trump by establishment Republicans and Christians who could not “force” themselves to vote for him. I knew a lot of the later who argued since he won the Republican nomination but most of them fell into line and voted for him but I suspect a percentage did not.

#NeverTrumper snakes are just as evil as the Left.

George, Go to hell and take your tortured Hamlet conscience while you’re at it.

You’re dead to me.

A jumble of nonsense from George Will.

Not a single coherent thought.

George doesn’t seem to realize (along with Bill Krystol) that his tripe ain’t resonating anymore.

Thanks to Donald Trump, Republicans have now consolidated the greatest amount of power in nearly 100 years. They control the White House, both Houses of Congress and the majority of state houses and state legislatures.

The mid-term 2018 elections point to even further gains for the Republicans. The Democrats have very little bench strength and they have lost the working class vote.

Poor George Will. He made the wrong choices and he's on the outside looking in with his other snobby establishment pals. Bitter little man.

“...A disruptive yet ruinous triumph for the GOP...”

Sad to see a man in the twilight of his career and not know it.

George’s lousy rug really shows in that photo. And the Kraut guy? He used to seem so intelligent; but his losing vendetta against President Trump turned his brain to acid sludge. Not good; especially for a headshrinker.

Texans on FR honking on and on about how Texas is soooo conservative has always bothered me, they’re being overrun just as surely as California was 20 years ago, and as North Carolina and Georgia have been over the past decade. They’re going to turn from red to purple, begin having increasingly slim margins of election for conservatives, then go the way of Virginia after DC metastasized past the point of no return into Northern Virginia. It’s arrogant to the point of being stupid.

So-called conservative intelligentsia is as stupid as the Left.

They’re consistently wrong.

Constitution says:The Congress may determine the Time of chusing [sic] the Electors, and the Day on which they shall give their Votes; which Day shall be the same throughout the United States.

Election is supposed to happen on a particular DAY, which is set by Congress.
