I would wager that I am more intelligent than 90% of the players in the NFL. I am a responsible adult who has never beaten a woman or fathered a child out of wedlock...I DO NOT WANT TO BE LECTURED by people who can’t carry my jockstrap in life...

NFL games could never hold a candle to the World Series this year, and our guy Trump.

I gave up on baseball after the steroid era. This year I came back to it and watched most of the World Series games. And I'm neither a Cubs or Indians fan.

Of course, letting baseball players get juiced up on PEDs and making a mockery of records was just being disrespectful to the sport. Letting players kneel during the National Anthem is being disrespectful to the nation.

I don't know if I will ever watch another NFL game.

While they are at it maybe they can find another dozen or so competent Quarterbacks so the League is at least a little more competitive.

“A televised before game firing of the 49s QB would get yuge ratings”

Even yuger ratings if they got Trump to do it.

Have more traitors sit through My National Anthem.
That’ll bring back more viewers.
I remember 40 or 50 years ago when the NFL went on strike.
To fill the vacancy, the networks broadcast the Pop Warner Games. People absolutely loved watching kids play football, some of the kids didn’t know all rules and did things unexpected and never seen in pro-football. They weren’t machine professionals. They made mistakes, occasionally cheated and acted like kids. The people loved them. When the NFL strike was over, the NFL had a hard time displacing the Pop-Warner Kids.

There hasn’t been halftime entertainment for a long, long time at NFL games. Way back when the Pats very often had Morgan State and Towson state marching bands - awesome. What they were doing up in Boston/Providence I’ll never know, but, they were there, a lot. Sometimes now they blindfold a guy and he tries to find a tackling dummy but mostly its just commercials over the PA and on the screen. Also it’s only 12 or 13 minutes now - the seats are still empty when the first series of the second half starts, odd since often it’s the key series of a game.

Man, I would SO like to see that again !

Then again, my favorite sporting event is the Little League World Series .. an event unmatched for love of the game, sportsmanship, and roller coaster competition !

I gave up on the NFL when JJ bought the Cowboys. They are not getting me back. NHL and college football for me.

I love getting lectured by people dumber than a post about a subject that I am an expert on in situations such as you describe. Some ding-dong will organize a brainstorming session complete with whiteboard and such, then manage to make themselves look dumber than you thought possible.

I believe that’s the Dilbert principle in action - typically management that acts this way.

(The setting I see this occur in is electronics.) Usually management and such have a MA, BA and possibly another degree, but no common sense or practical knowledge yet they are damn sure a lot smarter than you are because they are management.

Things to do other than watch the NFL:

Take a day off from your job.
Pick up litter thrown around your neighborhood.
Read the bible.
Go to church.
Spend time with your wife, the mother of your kids, doing chores.
Wave and smile to police who drive by.
Take down your Trump signs.
Go to the range and do some shooting.
Watch youtube videos of WWII and the Korean War and other important American History.

I have watched parts of two games this year. Generally for the past 40 years I’d spend 10 hours a week watching. I don’t miss it. I won’t be back regardless of what they do.

Failing that...Obama's favorite band, the Decembrists are always looking for a gig

Is that really a thing. They looked like people who wanted to be Morris Dancers but were rejected.

I agree completely, especially the CGI stuff, which has been a pet peeve of mine for some time. Can’t understand why they show it, when games are too long anyway.

"... Get rid of the pink uniforms." "Or what about giving us guys equal time by calling attention to prostate cancer?"

You don't have to be a misogynist to become offended at the blatant brainwash purpose of f#@&ing pink everywhere!

And I do mean everywhere - as this google image search on "nfl pink" overwhelmingly proves: LINK
