dubbed a “misleader” on global warming by Rolling Stone

Would that be the same Rolling Stone that published the phony UVA rape accusations and is now being forced to pay up as a result?

Good reference there, "Scientific" American...

(I'm old enough to remember a time when Scientific American was a respected magazine, before they ruined it by turning it into a political propaganda organ)

Not too many years ago, EPA almost collapsed when all their anti-American staff was given time off to take part in “Occupy Wall Street.”

“He is surrounding himself with the best and brightest”

I kept telling people before the election that Trump didnt get where he is in life by hiring stupid people. So far the “hirings” look spot on!

Starting off great already. If Rolling Stoned likes you, it's time to stop and re-evaluate everything.

With this appointment, Trump is signaling that he will no longer be playing by the Marquess of Queensberry rules.

Trump is pushing hard against the left wing agenda that has brought this country to near ruin.

I love it.

“It the EPA stayed to its original mission from Nixon, it would not be such a bad idea...The original intention was regulating deadly chemical disposal and cleaning up hazardous waste sites.”

There was an Original Star Trek episode where an old friend of Kirk created a Nazi dictatorship on some planet. The guy was a drugged out figurehead when Kirk finally found him ‘running’ the planet. He sobered a bit and said told Kirk that he just wanted the good aspects of the Nazism - the economic turnaround, the efficiency, etc. But the moral of the story was that you cannot have Nazism without terrible abuses.

You are TOTALLY RIGHT about the original need for the EPA (although neither of us will get much sympathy here for that view). The cars STUNK, and rivers were literally burning. It took the EPA only 10 years to cut emissions (for new cars) by 90%. It took another 25 years or so, but we got another 90% of the remainder cleaned up - a total of 99%. Honda once had an advertisement stating that the air going out of their tailpipes was cleaner than the air going into their engines, at least in Southern California on high pollution days.

But the challenge becomes what always seems to happen when liberals have a chance at taking power...they use the mechanisms of the EPA and other regulatory agencies to DESTROY INDUSTRY. Maybe Trump can get enough good judges and get the enabling laws re-written so these abuses don’t happen, at least for a few decades.

Do not know where that is but it was mentioned by Myron Hard in noting he would walk five miles for a dinner of Cantherellus cornucopioides. It was somewhere in Ohio.

That is such a shame about Scientific American. When I was in school long ago, I used to sit in the library and read it every time I had the opportunity. It had great articles that were so informative.

Then again, Time and Newsweek used to be about news.
