As the unexpected crystallized into reality early Wednesday, and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump padded his lead, Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway's phone rang.
It was Huma Abedin, Hillary Clinton's aide, calling on behalf of her boss.
Conway handed the phone to Donald Trump, and Abedin put Clinton on the line, Conway told ABC News. Clinton, who entered the night as the expectant victor, was prepared to acknowledge defeat and congratulate her challenger.
"They had a very gracious exchange," Conway told ABC News Wednesday.

Misleading headline. It gives the impression that Abedin spoke on behalf of Clinton, which is not what happened. It’s common for assistants to get the call setup.
Hillary was way too busy cursing up a storm
Meester Troomp, dees ees Huma.
She’s way too important to dial a phone.
A legend in her own mind.
How delicious to see her fail at her most desired goal in life.
Now Huma and the Hildebeast can go back to m*ff diving.
Way too busy asking her maid to shred all those documents she previously printed.
She was probably throwing them back faster than they could pour and already on her fifth or sixth one, so Huma had to do the dialing.
This is just what I was thinking. Thank God she lost.
It was probably huma calling kellyann. Kellyann saying that clinton wants to concede to you. Trump picks up phone and huma says hold for Hitlery please. I bet that was the way it went.
After Hillary hung up with the Donald, she destroyed the phone with a hammer.
Guess Huma will continue to service Hillary’s needs unless or until,one of them is indicted and convicted. Heck, they could be locked up together.
It makes sense to me that Hillary had someone make contact. I would do the same thing.
Did she use a southern fried accent like Hill does when she’s down south?
That’s ok, DT may have a new FBI director placing a call to both of them.
