This day just keeps getting better and better:
If the pardon is clearly a means to avoid investigation, I think that Trump could reverse the pardon by EO and then let it play out in the courts.
Men must either be caressed or else annihilated; they will revenge themselves for small injuries, but cannot do so for great ones; the injury therefore that we do to a man must be such that we need not fear his vengeance.
Niccolo Machiavelli
Oh yeah
No thanks he’s fallen in love with the DC political class. Give me the bull dog. Rudy knows how to get we done
Intriguing...
That question keeps coming up and of course we have to remember that is what Ford did for Nixon. It likely is not legal but no one cares I guess because no one challenged it.
Why we publish what we have on US elections

That is my theory. A president can pardon anyone or anything, but once he is no longer in power, the new president assumes that same power and can reverse it. No one ever challenged Ford on his pardon of Nixon...probably because the dems struck a side deal to let it go for something in exchange.
I’m iffy about Gowdy. He talks a lot but never seems to get anywhere. I think Rudy has more traction and gets stuff done as a former federal prosecutor who put away mob bosses.
interesting also because if she was pilfering the treasury for influence it seems that the assets should go back to their proper place.
EMail from NY Times political correspondent, Patrick Healy, to the Clinton Campaign about what he’s hearing about their plans to deal with Trump:

We’re told that President Clinton (like Mrs. Clinton and some other Dems)
thinks that Trump would be a formidable opponent in the general election,
and that Dems are in a form of denial if they dismiss Trump as a joke who
would be easily defeated in November. President Clinton, like others,
thinks that Trump has his finger on the pulse of the electorate’s mood and
that only a well-financed, concerted campaign portrayed him as dangerous
and bigoted will win what both Clintons believe will be a close November
election.
We’re told that President Clinton (like Mrs. Clinton and many other Dems)
thinks the single greatest weapon against Trump is Trump’s own instinct to
make outrageous, divisive, even hateful comments that can come across as
unpresidential. He, Mrs. Clinton, and the campaign all agree that they will
need to seize on opportunities to paint Trump as extremist and recklessly
impulsive.
We’re told that President Clinton, like Secretary Clinton and some others,
think Trump could pose a real threat in battleground states that President
Obama carried in 2008 and 2012 — like Virginia and Ohio — and he will be
competitive in Florida, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin.
But that needs to come with a price - that none of those people privately or publicly act against the Trump Administration. IOW, they go play golf and bake cookies.
Wikileaks is still releasing email dumps. Maybe they’re just getting started. LOL!
Don’t stop draining the swamp!
Couldn’t agree more. Sort of a gentleman’s agreement. Sit down, shut up, and let things take their course - OR ELSE!
