Sarah Palin could have run against Barack Obama’s re-election and didn’t, at least one reason apparently being that she didn’t want her family, which wasn’t always spotless, savaged. If being a pastor’s kid is difficult, imagine being a female presidential candidate’s kid. If the kid so much as spits on the sidewalk, his mama gets blamed.

A lot of similarities between Trump and Wilkie. Big difference is Trump was already famous while Wilkie, thanks to help from some magazine/newspaper people who saw potential in him, got famous very quickly, before TV.
Also Wilkie was a chain-smoker per Wiki and Trump is a clean liver.
