Obama can pardon anyone but himself. The planned pardon swap with Hillary can’t happen if she loses. Obama can still pardon whomever he values (perhaps skipping Hill and Bill - who already has one from Carter)
and still get himself off. Just skip Trump’s inauguration, which he’d detest, by resigning the day before “To honor Biden.” Plugs then pardons Obama as his only presidential action.
