An ongoing transit strike in Philadelphia is raising concerns among some Democrats that the stand-off could depress voter turnout in the battleground state's deep-blue stronghold but union officials say the agency is using Election Day as a scare tactic and unfair bargaining chip.
Thursday marked Day 3 of the strike thats crippled the commute for thousands of people working in and around Philadelphia.
The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority said in a statement that if the strike looks like it will continue through Nov. 8, the agency will pursue legal action to force the union to lift it for Election Day.

I’m sure Allegheny County is just lovely...
Voters really take a bus??”
My question exactly. Polling places are close enough in major cities that it should be no big deal to walk. Of course here in Houston I see someone is paying for cab fares at free or reduced rates. Grandson noticed it first and said mostly Black people seem to be using the free transportation. Wonder whose coffer Yellow Cab is receiving money from for this? Maybe Soros since he has contributed a measly $1.0M for TV ads for the Democrat AG candidate.
Waiting for the Demos in Philly to blame Trump for the strike since it’s obviously oppressing the poor and minority voters.
It’s very nice especially the northern part where it is secluded, love that area. Lived there several years ago.
Scare tacktics. People walk to vote. usually in the school next to your house.
we are electronic now so the fraud has no audit trail or paper.
I lived in Philadelphia for 10 years. Depending on the election, my polling place was either in the church located half a block from my apartment, or in the senior apartment building located 2-1/2 blocks from my apartment. The operation or non-operation of SEPTA had not the slightest bearing on my ability to cast a vote.
Much as we all want this strike to depress Philadelphia’s turnout, it’s just not realistic to assume that it will have any real impact. (Unless, people have to take so long to walk to and from their jobs that they run out of time to vote. I guess we can all hope for that.)
They do when they are bussed around from poll to poll to vote often and early.
This could possibly help Trump in Pennsylvania.
And in The People's Republik of Connecticut. And apparently Clark County, Nevada (Las Vegas). GRR!
Thanks for the info. That's too bad for 'our side'. :-(
