Oil is far more costly to pull out of the tar sands and we have plenty of our own. Canucks with their low self esteem spouting off about their self worth once again.

However, the cost of extracting and processing oil-sands bitumen is irrelevant to Americans. Canada (actually publicly-traded companies operating in Canada) sells it to the U.S. at world prices. The additional costs come out of the companies’ profits, or out of royalties governments would otherwise collect.
Correction: Americans do not pay world price for the oil-sands product. You actually pay about $10 — $15 less per barrel than the world price. You pay less than Canadians pay. That’s on us (or American billionaires like Soros — take your pick). Environmentalists and their fellow travelers are preventing the construction of pipelines, which could take the product to world markets.
Then there’s the Keystone XL line, which would bring plenty of oil to the U.S. market. Obama banned that one.
The author is delusional to suggest that the U.S.A. needs to invade Canada to get the oil. We’re quite content to sell it to you at deep-discount prices.
If you fail to get the irony and want to insult your Northern neighbours and friends remember this....our streets and cities are clean and safe ..our murder rate is less than half yours, the average American shoulders three times the per capita federal debt and we dwell in relative harmony with each other...but most of all we hate our politicians and do not have live with an Obama in the Whitehouse, and a Clinton lurking in the wings...do not confuse humility with low self esteem or you might get smacked in the kisser with a hockey stick...
