Tax subsidized? Let's fix that silliness. Cut the ATF "tax" to $25 and the "approval" down to just the NICS check. You'll get the tax revenue and the economy benefits by selling a safe, quality product. Ammo manufacturers benefit with additional sales.

The government can only tax it, if they know that you have it. In other words, the government push to tax firearms and ammunition is a backdoor registration tactic, or more to the point, if you left a paper trail of purchases, they can find you, and make your short life miserable.
