Actually, I think he has it reversed. I'm not a Spanish speaker, but from what little I know about the Spanish language, the English "j" sound does not exist there. (In fact, the "j" in Spanish words is commonly pronounced like an "h", as in "Jose.") So the Spanish speaker, confronted with the "j" sound in an English word, will commonly mispronounce it as a (consonant) "y". Thus the word "Jew" will frequently be mispronounced as "you" by the Spanish speaker, not the other way around.
