DOJ's Loretta Lynch Tried To Squash Comey's Letter To Congress
Zero Hedge ^ | October 20, 2016 | Tyler Durden

Posted on 10/29/2016 8:25:43 AM PDT by maggief

(snip)

According to the New Yorker, "Comey’s decision to make public new evidence that may raise additional legal questions about Clinton was contrary to the views of the Attorney General, according to a well-informed Administration official. Lynch expressed her preference that Comey follow the department’s longstanding practice of not commenting on ongoing investigations, and not taking any action that could influence the outcome of an election, but he said that he felt compelled to do otherwise."

Traditionally, the Justice Department has advised prosecutors and law enforcement to avoid any appearance of meddling in the outcome of elections, even if it means holding off on pressing cases. One former senior official recalled that Janet Reno, the Attorney General under Bill Clinton, “completely shut down” the prosecution of a politically sensitive criminal target prior to an election. “She was adamant—anything that could influence the election had to go dark,” the former official said.

And the punchline:

"according to the Administration official, Lynch asked Comey to follow Justice Department policies, but he said that he was obliged to break with them because he had promised to inform members of Congress if there were further developments in the case. He also felt that the impending election created a compelling need to inform the public, despite the tradition of acting with added discretion around elections. The Administration official said that Lynch and Justice Department officials are studying the situation, which he called unprecedented."

Let’s not forget that the NYPD first started this investigation into Anthony Weiner and it was the NYPD that confiscated the electronic device/devices. If there was no classified info why would they have turned it over to the FBI? Folks, there IS classified info and the Director of the FBI cannot whitewash this because it is now out of his control.

It also definitely involved Clinton for Comey to reopen that investigation rather than a new investigation of Huma or “Carlos”...

Gee, the same Lynch who refused to answer questions about the Iranian hostage payments, met with Clinton on the tarmac, and heads a Department where over 90% of political donations go to Democrats? I am shocked, shocked!

C’mon, Loretta.

Your subordinate was insubordinate.

Fire him now!

(or wait until tonight...)

(We need a few days of headlines on that between now and the election. :-) )

Can you say—Saturday Night Massacre!

And if it turns out that Comey’s action was based on national security concerns, given Huma’s Muslim Brotherhood ties, he will look great and all the Clinton Crime Syndicate crowd will look like traitors. Lock them up! Lock them up!

What is really important is Weiner’s access. Prior to this, Comey could say it was just people with clearances being reckless...but there was no evidence anybody without clearanace accesses the emails.

Well that changes if serial pervert Weiner had access to them. He has no clearance and is a textbook case for blackmail.

A tradition to protect the corrupt and risk electing a pack of lying criminals?

Lynch is afraid that her and Comey’s initial complicity in “Operation Whitewash” will cause her problems. One must wonder if he’s trying to garner some sort of immunity from retribution despite the danger of crossing the Clintons.

Assuming that what’s out there re the NYPD digging into this, I’ve come around to the same conclusion you outlined.

Agree. It’s also interesting to see how the democrats respond to this. Trump has accusations about unsubstantiated events that allegedly occurred decades ago thrown at him, and a number of Republicans come out against him. Clinton, on the other hand, has had scandal after scandal over the course of decades, and there is real objective evidence against her, but the democrats just circle the wagons and try to protect her.

Loretta Lynch should be arrested right after the election and indicted for corruption for the “secret meeting” with the rapist in his plane to FIX the email and bribery charges against the criminal liar hillary. She should be held without bond as a flight risk pending her quick trial.

“Traditionally, the Justice Department has advised prosecutors and law enforcement to avoid any appearance of meddling in the outcome of elections” ....

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

If Loretta hadn’t let Slick on her plane, maybe she’d have a leg to stand on as far as “avoid(ing) any appearance of meddling” is concerned.

But it’s ok for a politician to pay $500K to the wife of a Justice Department official for her political campaign?

That’s permitted?

But they were happy with his July “interference” in the election...

If he hadn’t said/implied in July that the investigation was closed, then he wouldn’t have had to say anything now!

The bias reeks.

Quash. The word is quash. As in supress. Not squash, as in flatten.
