Back in the day a fellow caught up in the Billy Sol Estes issue (which also involved LBJ) was to have committed suicide by shooting himself several times in the back with a 00 shotgun.
My mom’s comment has been that he probably had an easier time aiming once his arms came off (from recoil ... have to say it because who knows who is in the peanut galley).
One “suicide” was in the belly five times with a .22 bolt action rifle? I remember that case! The photo of someone trying to show how the victim did it was a hoot!
