Rush is positing a theory (not his) that Comey is using this to distract from all the ever-more-damaging Wikileaks stuff that has been coming out. Then, late next week, after successfully taking all the air out of Wikileaks, Comey will give Hillary yet another clean bill of health.

No, Comey has no reason to want to get into campaign strategy like that. He always had the option to do nothing. There must be something unavoidable in this new evidence that has made Comey realize the jig is up and he needs to cover himself.

My guess is this: It is well know that FBI rank and file are up in arms over this case. I believe Comey received notice from the foot soldiers of FBI that they have no choice but to go fully public with their concerns unless he re-open an HONEST case. Clearly, WE ALL KNOW that she bleached the server because it was a open/shut case if anyone got a hold of it.
Comey between rock and hard place. Took this move in hopes of getting out of it.

Sorry, that makes no sense as finally the media is covering this. Why would you want to give someone 7 days of negative press right before an election? Makes more sense that they now feel that Trump will win and they better hurry up and CYA just in case. If Hillary wins, then they can say that they found nothing new or incriminating.
