But after listening to the car radio all the way home I had an epiphany.
Maybe someone has already posited this.

WHAT IF THE FBI FOUND OUT HUMA IS A MOLE AND HAS KEPT TENS OF THOUSANDS OF DOCUMENTS ON HER DEVICE!
What if she has been passing this info to our enemies?

Remember she often answered Hillary’s emails for her. She has had access to EVERYTHING!

This would explain why Comey had to come forward.

Your idea makes more sense than any that goes after Crooked directly. Huma is going to take the fall.

To me, that still doesn't explain why Comey went public before completing the investigation, etc. - unless the goal was to warn Huma and other to flee the country while they had a chance - flush them out, if you will.

But my bias is that Comey is crooked. Making a public announcemnt has no principled reason, despite Comey's protestation otherwise.
