Ah yes, I know for a fact that the rain won't melt me. I'm out "in it" often enough, been known to get soaked! I have a few hours to see how much work I can get done, and nothing is pressing so hard that I can't go.
Iirc my dad bought an extra heavy slicker on one of our trips to Maine. He and mom shared it to do chores outside in the soaking rain. Often heard “we should have bought two” from the one who got the short straw.
