Trump has often said that we have bad airports.
I'm not a big fan of fed largesse being poured out into such projects, but if the money is going to be spent, the NY airports isn't a bad choice. It would be a good test of Trump going udner budget and ahead of schedule. Also, Reagan's turning point was also at an airport, when he went on the tarmac and put PATCO on notice over their illegal strike.
