South Korean Adopted At Age 3 Is To Be Deported Nearly 40 Years Later ( breaking up families!)
NPR ^ | 10/27/2016 | Camilla Domonoske

Posted on 10/27/2016 12:29:52 PM PDT by GilGil

Adam Crapser was brought to the United States when he was 3, to start a new life — new parents, new culture, new country.

But his adoptive parents didn't complete his citizenship papers. Then they abandoned him to the foster care system.

And now, as a 41-year-old father of four, he's being deported. Despite his appeals for help, he has been ordered to be sent back to South Korea, a country The Associated Press describes as "completely alien to him."

His predicament is the result of parental failings, a criminal past and acts of Congress.

Never mind, I skimmed the first few paragraphs too fast. Now I see the part about the criminal record.

This sounds like an Obama planted piece. They will point to this case as the reason why people like this man cannot be deported by the likes of a heartless Trump.

You can bet he won't be deported thanks to a caring Obama administration that will step in and stop this deportation. We are being played like a fiddle.

His criminal record was not the point I was making.

We are told by democrats that even criminal illegal immigrants should be left alone and that we cannot break up families. That is the democrat message.

We have an example here where the dems do exactly the opposite and they are doing something that they have accused Trump of doing.

The point was the hypocrisy.

That’s exactly what I thought as well but, this is clearly not the guy’s fault.

He came here legally and was dumped because “It was just too much for his so called parents”.

I feel bad for him and he should be allowed to stay.

Maybe if he shows up for his hearing wearing a dress he would get favorable consideration.
Or a burka

Crapser served jail time for crimes including burglary and assault.

He will be allowed to stay despite his criminal record. There is a political agenda surrounding this case. NPR wrote the story to elicit just the kind of response you had. The Dems use the same argument to justify legalizing over 700,000 Dreamers under Obama’s 2012 executive amnesty.

And that’s exactly what a cursory reading of the article, or at least the headline, is supposed to make you feel.

They front-loaded the article with his kids and the awful things that happened to him in foster care, but wedged his criminal record into a tiny paragraph in the middle of the story, right near the carefully format-highlighted information about his foster mistreatment. We have no idea what his assault charge was about, or what other crimes he’s been convicted of.

Then the article goes on to highlight his supposed turn-around with such wholesome aspects as running a barbershop, and how “difficult” it’s been because of those nasty congress people passing laws that made it hard for him to apply for citizenship.

He might well be a great guy, whose criminal record amounts to not much more than bad timing, but since this is NPR, we instead get a puff-piece designed to evoke a conclusion based on emotion, with too few facts (and biased ones at that) to make a thoughtful decision.

“We really should find a way to let him stay...”

Yeah, where is our “productive GOP-led Congress? Oh never mind, they are back home right now licking their balls! Those that can find them.

“...Crapser served jail time for crimes including burglary and assault.”

Screw him! I’ll bet after the first crime he commits in South Korea he sure as hell won’t want to commit another one...that is...if he ever gets out of jail over there.

THEY ACTUALLY PUNISH CRIMINALS! Can you believe that?

Then, after an abusive childhood, Crapser served jail time for crimes including burglary and assault.

Buried in the article a small issue apparently for NPR

Hard cases make bad law.
This is one of those that should be settled by executive discretion.

“Exceptions can be made but the lefties want the militants more. More useful than this fella.”

No, they want a public outcry of unfairness. Then they call this guy a Dreamer. Why is he different from the brown ones? He can stay, but they have to go? What, are you racist? (See where this goes?)

Finally, a mainstream media story that has enough relevant information.

We really should find a way to let him stay...

Because we really don't have enough criminals in this country. Burglary, possession of a firearm by a felon. Assault. Violation of a protective order. Several unspecified misdemeanors. Offer him a room in your house. I don't want him in my neighborhood.
