They have stolen so much from the “till” than they insanely think that a massive world war is the only thing that could possibly cover their crimes as they slip away to some remote nest in some backwater part of the world that is already waiting for them...
They fail to realize that if they do something like this, some patriots might survive and whatever happens in international waters, come what may...
Reality: Russia would be a world rival of the United States, regardless of WHAT form of government they may be under currently. The Russians might no longer be Communists, but they are still - Russians. And they still have dreams of empire.
Going to war with Russia ranks right up there with playing with dynamite. Better by far to be engaging them and talking with them, even if there seem to be few areas for potential compromise. Going to war with the Soviet Union was perhaps the one fatal mistake that Adolf Hitler made, opening his power center to attack from both the east and the west. Stalin would have done nothing, had Hitler held off, and a half-century of history would have been vastly different.
Agreed. While Obama has been demoralizing and destroying our military the past 8 years, Russia has been steadily building and upgrading theirs. The outcome would not be the same via 1990 standards when the U.S. was a dominant world power.
