I would need to know everything she is taking and that is not going to happen.

Actually you can take coumadin with most other meds. However, due to drug interactions it takes close monitoring of the INR, which is a measure of anticoagulation. Due to the interactions of some drugs one needs to adjust the dose of coumadin up or down depending on the interaction.

What I have always found odd is that she is taking warfarin to prevent a deep vein thrombosis from occurring again. There are other drugs that are equally effective but with minimal side effects and drug interactions as compared to coumadin. Dabigataran also called Pradaxa is one of these drugs. However, Pradaxa does not have an indication for someone with an artificial heart valve. For this, one must use coumadin.

I personally think Hillary has an artificial heart valve. If she does not, her doctors are idiots to use warfarin.
