The NFL is not an icon...stop putting so much on weight on a game and marketing engine.
Go to your local high school game, they will more than appreciate the clapping from you!

Football is an icon. The NFL part, eh... The level of play is at it’s zenith there. When I say icon, I mean that the standout sports we have are Baseball, Football, and Basketball.
