Pennsylvania GOP: State poll watcher law is unconstitutional

With two weeks to go before the presidential election, the Pennsylvania Republican Party has filed a lawsuit in federal court claiming the state’s law regarding poll watchers is unconstitutional.

The challenge comes as polls show a tight race between Republican nominee Donald Trump and Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. In recent days on the campaign trail, Trump has warned of “rigged elections” in “other communities” including cities like Philadelphia.

The current state law, established in 1937, allows poll watchers to monitor locations only within the county in which they are registered to vote. The lawsuit claims that because some electoral districts are not restricted to a single county, the law violates voters’ free speech. …

Anyone help me out ?

Well they could video tape the buses hauling voters around.

Yes, and by the time the tape was presented as evidence, the election would be over. Even if massive fraud was *proven*, this country doesn’t have the spine to overturn a wrongful election.

I love my PA town. You practically need a 4wheeler to get to the polling station.

We are solidly Trump. But I would still like to be part of the process.

Our constables here are given that responsibility but never have I seen one at the station.

Poll watchers watch the voting and processing of ballots. In PA, you have to reside in the precinct to be one, so Philly gets away with massive voter fraud in precincts with no observers and quite a few were thrown out of polling locations. Trump hopefully will have lawyers deployed and ready.

This is all about the Dems being able to stuff the ballot boxes in Philly, and to a lesser extent, Pittsburgh. Hard to find enough Republicans registered to vote in the City of Philadelphia - which is its own county - who are willing to be poll watchers.

Nor mail in voting, either. Nor secret ballots.

Stand up and say out loud who you are voting for.

A poll watcher can observe and keep track of who is voting, but cannot interfere or intervene in any way. I’ve been a poll watcher, and have used the poll slips to make sure the voters on my list show up to vote. If they don’t by a certain time, we call them.

Re: How?

In NY you have the local party chairman of the district you wish to observe submit your name to the elections commission. Standard fill in the name type form. Easy. That is PARTY chairman. Any party.

Duties vary. ; -)

In PA, the local party chairman or a candidate submits a form to the board of elections naming poll watchers and the board of elections provides a certificate that the watcher takes with them to the poll. Each candidate and each party can have one watcher for every precinct.

If you have access to YouTube look up election fraud. It’s rampant.Stuffing ballot boxes. It’ll make your blood boil. We all know they’re not Republicans.

Being an honest Republican poll watcher in a city like Philli could get you very beat up if you don’t keep your mouth shut as to what you see. It is my understanding from past elections that many of those voting places have no poll watcher on the republican side.

Hmmm, maybe not. Lived in Pittsburgh most of my life, now in Gettysburg. The Pennsylvania Democratic Party is one strange animal...except for the few wacko birds in Philly and Harrisburg who are "Yellow dog Democrats".

Trump's message resonates pretty well in Pittsburgh...yes, i've been there recently. With the exception of the Rooney family, i don't expect Hitlery to do well in Western PA. Here in Central PA...forget it! This place is solidly Trump. i can count the Hitlery signs with one hand and still have a finger or two left over. i don't know or care about Philly

I live in a predominately Dem township in Eastern Montco. There are very few Hillary signs, as compared to the number of Obama signs in 2008 and to a lesser extent 2012. A big Trump sign along the main drag was promptly vandalized. But the city of Philly is ground zero for Dem vote fraud for statewide elections.

It’s a shame that they don’t have any pictures of Hitlery appearing with Kathleen Kane.

Patriots, alleged constitutional problems with the referenced state law completely ignore the following. Not only does the constitutionally enumerated process for electing POTUS (2.1.2 and the 12th Amendment) not involve ordinary voters, but regarding domestic policy, low-information voters are evidently clueless that electoral votes basically determine how the US Mail Service (1.8.7) is run.

I bet Trump - right this very minute - is telling the city’s officials that if there are any irregularities at the polling stations, he will sue them! Give ‘em hell Trump!
