Long Distance Races Planned to Honor Katie Steinle
NBC Bay Area ^

Posted on 10/24/2016 3:25:38 PM PDT by nickcarraway

Downtown Pleasanton's first-ever "Good for the Soul" 5K/10K race and Kids' Challenge will be held on Sunday morning, honoring Kate Steinle, a woman who was shot and killed on San Francisco's Pier 14 on July 1, 2015.

"With this run, the organizers hope that people will come together to remember that life is short and tomorrow is not a guarantee," event planner Jonathan Lance said in a statement.

Proceeds from the run will be donated to two organizations, Students Rising Above and the Challenged Athletes Foundation.

The run will start and finish under the Main Street Arch, Lance said. Participants can opt to run or walk the 5K, but the 10K is expressly a run.

The 5K and 10K courses are flat and fast, using the downtown streets and paved and unpaved Arroyo Trails.

Three separate Kids' Challenge races, for children aged 2 through 8, will be a number of 100-yard dashes on Main Street, finishing under the Arch.

Making sure it doesn’t happen again would be a much better honor.

The Kate Steinle Challenge:

Outrun a multiple felon illegal alien bullet from a irresponsibly unsecured stolen police automatic assault pistol.

Thanks go to Donald Trump for bringing Kate's story and so many many more to the public eye.

When we may have first heard of Kate's murder in San Francisco, it may have happened to many of us that it was just another senseless murder and we may have forgotten it seconds later.

But Donald made it a national issue, even an international one. And when many of us paid attention to what he was saying, it dawned on us that Kate was a symbol of the best and sweetest of our youth, along with Jamal and many others, the best of our youth senselessly murdered by and large due to a lack of border enforcement. Only Donald had the inclination and guts to lay it all out.

Kate was simply enjoying a walk on the Embarcadero pier with her dad breathing the wonderful Pacific air and enjoying the gorgeous view like many of us would have the pleasure to do. And then she slumped and cried "Dad, please help me" and then she was dead.

Can you imagine having a beautiful daughter with her whole life ahead of her suddenly and senselessly die in your arms by an illegal alien who had been deported five times and who was spared a sixth deportation because San Francisco had carried the haughty thought they were superior and cared for the poor downtrodden undocumented people living in the shadows? And to add insult to injury the murderer had stolen the gun used in the murder from an ICE Officer.

If you cannot or won't find a tear of heartbreak for this young woman and the others killed senselessly, then you are not human:

RIP Kate, America won't forget you and the others that Donald brought to the front of our conscience.

"With this run, the organizers hope that people will come together to remember that life is short and tomorrow is not a guarantee,"

...particularly when your political leaders are so full of liberal bs that they won't impede the crooks who kill those lives. They ought to run the race right by the judge's house that let that scumbag go and burn it down.

Such a young vibrant woman, cut down.. by a ‘stray’ bullet..

The catalytic event that brought The Donald to the game, the illegal immigration game.. imho. Bless him for that alone.

WE have stomached far worse in the WH in all fairness, but never by the hands of a true businessman.. yet. :-)

How bad can it get under a Trump administration?

Frankly, Hillary..

What difference does it make 8-?

We all will bear ‘costs’ regardless

many of them making up for your earlier misadventures globally
