Off topic, but I liked how the old uniforms had the stirrup socks, as we see clearly in this photo.

I don’t know why players got away from them. Now almost all players have the long pants which go down to the top of the shoe. A few players have knee socks they wear. But no players today wear the stirrup socks we see in this pic.

Regular season stats show the Cubbies are the stronger team

So true. 2016 is the year of the world in weather, politics, world events, and sports. Part of the weird is that either the Cubbies or the Indians have to win the World Series! One thing, for sure! It will be a fun series.

Maybe, but I can tell you that the Cubs have not had a team this strong for the last 30 years since I’ve been compiling the stats, and probably longer than that. Coulda, woulda, shoulda notwithstanding, this may be their year - they are the strongest team.

What are you saying - Cleveland will absolutely win??? Nobody knows what’s going to happen. You make yourself look bad when you make those kinds of claims.

Like the now and then blend of pictures of Wrigley Field.

Off topic, but I hope we have good baseball weather for the Series.

Baseball has erred, in my opinion, in stretching out the season so that the World Series, if it goes the full 7 games, ends in November. There’s too much chance of bad baseball weather in northern cities this time of year.

Considering that both Chicago and Cleveland can get cold raw days this time of year, and considering that all games will be night games, baseball is rolling the dice, with bad weather affecting the most important games of the year,.

Yes, and I’ll be looking for Marty McFly’s Back-To-The-Future DeLoren if the Cubbies win.

I went to a few Indians games this year. They're a wonderful team to watch

Yep, Cleveland has a very good team this year (noted by an envious Seattle Mariners fan).

Off topic, but I liked how the old uniforms had the stirrup socks, as we see clearly in this photo.

When I played little league in the 60's we wore knickers with stirrup socks. More players these days are at least going back to the knickers and long socks. I loved the freedom to run and slide in those uniforms. I'm an Astros fan and more than half the team wears them now. The long pants look like they'd stick to your legs and impede movement.

Good for you. So shoulda, woulda, coulda for Cleveland or the Cubbies depending on your inclination.

FYI, so far, my Fearless Predictions for the 2016 MLB playoffs is 75% correct. Not bad, n’est-ce pas?

As I said, of course I could be wrong, but it looks really good for the Cubbies, my prediction to win the WS this year. Either way, what I really want and think we might get is a goods series. Both seem very hungry.

It’s close enough that it will all come down to situational match ups and which team delivers in the clutch. 1st vs. 7th is not a huge gap.

“Run on black cats at Cleveland animal shelters.”

Believe it or not many shelters don’t allow black cat adoptions near Halloween.

That was true for a long time. But the tide has turned and they will win the series. At Wrigley.

Well, you could say the same about the sad-sack Tribe. Both losers who are trying to be winners. And I like ‘em both.
