...On day 2 of this year's in-person early voting, 49 percent came from registered Democrats, 27 percent from registered Republicans, and 24 percent from registered unaffiliated voters. Cumulatively so far, registered Democrats are 51 percent of the early in-person ballots, registered Republicans are 26 percent, and registered unaffiliated voters are 23 percent. In comparison to the same day in 2012 totals, registered Democrats are down 10 percent, registered Republicans are down 6 percent, and registered unaffiliated voters are up 28 percent.

Bingo! I was an “R” but after our NC primary, I switched to Unaffiliated due to the shenanigans of the GOPe. My Dad & Husband are also unaffiliated. There will be 9 votes in my immediate family going to Donald Trump when we go to the polls. And btw, I have not seen one HiLIARy sign or bumper sticker in my area. The few signs/bumper stickers we see are for Trump.

We have become distrustful of the process. Walking in seems safest to have my vote counted. Just me.
“Early Voting” is nothing other than “Early Cheating” just one more tool to manipulate votes. Same goes for mail in ballots. These systems make it even easier foe County Recorders to lose votes, especially when they know what party the voter is from.
My only concern is enthusiasm levels for women wanting to make “history”. GOP and independent women may control this election. As I’ve indicated before, if they get Hillary elected, look for a spike in divorces in the coming year or two.
That’s true in some cases but the number of registered Republicans in North Carolina has actually increased — not decreased — since this time in 2012.
If there were 5% fewer R’s in NC than there were 4 years ago then the number of early Republican voters being down 5% from 2012 to 2016 would make sense.
At least the number of Democrats has dropped more.
I understand your point, but Hillary reminds many of their nagging mother in law or their nasty ex wife. There was a much greater “first” factor with Obama. Not saying their won’t be a surge for the first “female” president, but she’s just a generally unlikeable individual so she loses whatever edge she may have had in that regard.
