Pat Caddell: ‘Polling Is All Over the Place… Shock Potential Is Enormous’

Pollster and analyst Pat Caddell discussed recent presidential election polling on Friday with Breitbart News Daily SiriusXM host Alex Marlow, saying, “Something is going on in this country in these polls.”

“All of the tracking polls keep holding at Trump being ahead,” he continued. “And then all of these other polls that are one-off polls, or whatever … I don’t know how they’re doing some of these university polls. You just put the name of some university and apparently it becomes credible, whether they know what they’re doing, or not.

Caddell was pointing out the discrepancy between the different types of polls. “But in any event, polling is all over the place…. Something isn’t adding up,” said Caddell.

That is not Caddell the pollster. It is Glenn Beck’s sidekick, I believe.

I’d like to see it reported that the vote totals added up to more voters than actual live citizens in the country. I wanna watch the left try to explain that one away...

Bush I had literally no campaign at all up until the last month or so. He was so lethargic, it was brutal just to realize how out of it he seemed to be. He thought the gulf war would easily hand him the victory. WRONG!

Bush I was *begged* by some to go after Clinton on Clinton's infidelities, and I still remember his trademarked "I just received a nuclear wedgie" hesitant speaking style in response:

"Wouldn't be...prudent."

What a hopless f*cking douche and traitor. The whole family, too.

Caddell is a good man. His party betrayed him long ago.

Caddell is both a pollster and intellectually honest liberal. I’m inclined to listen to him.

I've never been able to figure Caddell out. Liberals are not honest.

I agree.

On paper Bush had the right credentials. I believe he was a Congressman and a Senator. He was director of the CIA. He was an ambassador. He was Reagan’s V.P.

He had all that inside understanding of how things worked. He was admittedly schooled by Reagan.

His globalist vent made it all meaningless.

As you said, his whole family bought in. It’s a shame. They had so much opportunity and blew every chance.

Jeb is just subliminal. I’ve never seen a more incompetent fool.

I didn’t pay attention to GHW Bush’s dad Prescot. He must have been a bonehead too.

It’s easy. He is not a liberal. He is just a guy who can keep his job with Fox so long as he pretends to be a Dem operative. He’s not a criminal. He just wants money. He may not believe anything other than the need to earn a living.

There’s no reason any sane person should even think of voting Democrat.

Jesse Watters of Fox News got this answer from a woman as her reason why she would not vote for Trump. She said, "Because he has no clue." That's enough for a low-info voter. Hillary's base is full of them.

Caddell is an old school liberal. I’m old enough to remember what they were like.

Dems were not always pure evil. They were on the wrong side of a lot of issues, but not necessarily the completely corrupt and vile creatures they are today. Think JFK. He was a tax cutter, pushed the space program, served honorably in the military and was a dem. Yes, he was deeply flawed, but compared to the Clintons, he was a saint.

So am I. And I agree there were pretty decent lib Dems in "the times of old," including JFK, Hubert Humphrey, and Harry Truman. But if Caddell is of their ilk he truly is one of the last of a dying breed.

Almost every Republican-leaning commentator predicted Romney would win. Krauthammer, Gingrich, Morris, etc. I believe the polls were leaning Romney as well. Only a minority of polls predicted the minority-heavy turnout that Obama had in 2008 would repeat again.

Trump has the unique albatross around his neck of the #nevertrump movement, which Romney didn’t have to worry about. He does not have the party fully united around him. While #nevertrump is much less a grass-roots movement, and much more of a top-down movement from the elites, it’s still something we’ve never really seen a presidential candidate face in a general election before. It seems a bit optimistic to think that support from the party’s base will be unaffected by this movement being backed by this many regulars in the “right-leaning” media. Trump has to hope for a “Brexit effect” of a new swath of voters turning up who don’t usually vote that’s big enough to counteract it.

There are a lot of ‘something we've never really seen’ factors in this race, including WikiLeaks and the fact that the stature of the American media is lower than it has ever been before.

I’ll never forget the first time I saw George Bush I waving from an airplane next to his wife. I knew nothing about them. But I assumed he was campaigning with his mom. Later, I came to think of her as “Ma Bush”.

Anyway, Doughty, would you ever believe that Bill Blythe Clinton is actually Bill Bush Clinton? There’s a picture of young Bill sitting at a table with Bush I. That’s when some pieces of the puzzle fell in place. It’s always puzzled me how Bill from nowhereville got the best of everything including getting away with a free trip behind the Iron Curtain when no one could go. And he gets away with everything , impeachment notwithstanding,

Yes I agree with your thoughts.

As I recall, Bill met with some pretty impressive people too as I understand it.

Behind the iron curtain wasn’t easy in those days.

And as you intimated, the family had no money. How did he pull that off?
