Funny you should mention Walsh Mack.
We have had family visiting from Australia, they went to Starbucks on Thur. and were approached to be in a local commercial.
The commercial was being filmed at what used to be Mack’s Dew Drop Inn which was right next to his home. The menu gives a brief history, in 1939 Walsh built a small cafe in old Pinetop, the building was burnt down by locals attempting to run him out of town. Undeterred he became the proprietor of the Dew Drop Inn. He was well known throughout the area both for his stature-standing 6’7” tall, work ethic, and his menu of hamburgers, chili, BBQ ribs and chicken gumbo.
His home is now a Mexican Restaurant.

I get the irony... oh how I get the irony. Damn. Just damn.
I see that from our conversation, I am (now) compelled to visit the area.
Great time tonight recollecting back to 1972-1975, in my case. ;0)
Great anecdotal information concerning Walsh Mack. Thank you!
