Will Republicans please stop being manipulated

Posted on 10/21/2016 2:53:52 PM PDT by MagillaX

Why in the world would you not vote Republican. Because powerful Republicans in the party have made you upset?

Trump needs good Republicans to do anything meaningful do you really think Democrats are going to help him.

Be smart. Let say we kick out Mccain, do you think the Democrat is going to be better. No it is a no win situation. You are being manipulated into thinking there is some kind of gain in it for you.

We are screwed with his type whether he wins or loses. And since you have no idea other than a few who spoke up who is a friend or foe it is better to let Trump deal with it.

If Republicans send him to a congress with Democrats in control you have just set him up for failure. And your not doing anyone a favor. And maybe that is just what you want.

The masters of manipulation know all the dirty secrets of these politicians, and that includes the talking heads on TV and radio. It is a shame but it would appear no one could be trusted concerning their motives and that includes people on this board.

They will play you like a fiddle if you let them using your pride and whatever else they can use to get their way.

Republicans be smart vote the party and then let Trump take care of the mopping up, don't try to do it for him your not helping.

“Trump needs good Republicans to do anything meaningful”

No such thing.

Look, if the GOP has done something for you or something that you approve of, by all means, vote for them.

I have no intention of rewarding traitors, connivers and cowards with the continued privilege of representing me.

It is not important that he be better. What is important is for all candidates to understand that there are consequences for F***ing us over.

The NRA has been quite successful at advancing it's goals by making certain everyone who stabs them in the back pays a price. The whole strategy can be summed up as:

Pour encourager les autres.

And it works. Not short term, but long term it works.

Well to be fair we are in a catch 22.

We either vote for the RINO and the GOP remains in power, but is hamstrung by the RINOs.

Or we don’t vote and the Rat’s take control. It’s only marginally better.

Perhaps we should vote for the RINO’s, then recall them, so that there is a chance a GOP will be named/elected to replace them.

Republicans are bought and paid for just like the Dems. They haven’t done crap for this country since Obama has been elected. God bless Donald Trump for fighting for us.

I voted straight Republican except when it came to McCain. I have said I am done with him and I mean it. I voted for the Green Party candidate.

The Republican Elite has bought into several incorrect premises that:
* that debate is conflict and conflict is bad
* their views are somehow offensive and that they should be defensive when presenting them
* that they can roll back everything if they somehow win in the distant future with a perfect instead of stopping it now with a mediocre one
* that strength and pride are bad

Step 1 - Elect Trump/Retain Congress

Steps 2-4 - Cantor every weasel in Congress in ‘18, ‘20, and ‘22

As much as I hate it, can’t give Congress to the Dems. With Trump in they’ll block him at every turn. With Hillary, she’d have an even larger rubber stamp.

This. To be honest, I couldn’t bring myself to vote for the Democrat yesterday. My senator while not officially nevertrump, has been playing the straddle fence BS. So I did the same. He’s short one ordinarily reliably vote now.

The final straw was him refusing to vote for Trump. I didn’t vote for Senate and voted for all other Republicans on my ballot.

I was finally done with him when he said the delegates should vote their conscience. It really started for me when he ran for president and didn’t take it seriously and wouldn’t allow Sarah to really fight. FUJM

If there were good Republicans, I would have voted straight ballot.

I split ticket because no one in Washington listens or cares.

I’ve seen them snuggle up to Obama and Hillary and when we hit the roof, they told us to get lost.

I took the GOP at their word. Democrats don’t treat their base the way they treat us.

If they want my vote, they must earn it. Trump worked hard for mine.

I haven’t seen such outreach from the GOP establishment.

Which couldn’t win even if you showed them.

Mark Kirk from Illinois is my senator. He didn;t endiorse trump so I am not voting for him.

the republican party needs to be sent a message, give us candidates that represent us, the constituents, or they will not get our vote.

I wish I could vote against McCain and Lindsey Graham too.

We voted yesterday in AZ and voted for McCain. I voted against him in the primary and was strongly considering voting for the Dem as punishment until I saw his opponent's negative ad which accused McCain of supporting Trump sixty times.

That's when I realized that if Trump wins, McCain will go along with him some of the time, but if the Dem wins, she will go against Trump all of the time.

And if God forbid, Hillary wins a Dem congress will make things go from terrible to Obama level destruction.

I'm also in AZ and finding this one of the most difficult votes I've ever been asked to make. I ENTHUSIASTICALLY support Donald Trump and can't wait to vote for him (two votes when you count my wife who is just as enthusiastic).

But voting for McCain just sticks in my craw. I am a Vietnam veteran and ironically served on the same ship in which McCain crashed his aircraft and was captured, the USS Oriskany. He came aboard in 1967, I arrived in 1968.

If anyone takes the time to seriously research McCain, they will learn why his fellow offficers nicknamed him "songbird," but that's the stuff of another post.

Like you, I will probably hold my nose and vote for McCain as the lesser of two very large evils. I feel totally betrayed having to cast such a vote. I wish Donald Trump had endorsed Kelli Ward in the primary, and I wish Kelli Ward had been quicker to endorse Trump, but that's all water over the dam at this point. Sometimes it sucks to be Republican.
