Antonio Cromartie's wife claims his anthem boycott was why Colts cut him (Feel good story)

Antonio Cromartie's wife took to Instagram Tuesday to blast the Colts and claim that her husband's kneeling during the national anthem is the reason he was cut by the team.

““You are nothing more than an entertainer. Just shut up and do what we say. … One things for sure I know my husband was told Not to take a Knee and he went with his heart and he took one. And that cost him his Job ... and Clearly this Statement backs that up… Just Paid to put on a show,” Terricka Cason said in a since-deleted Instagram post (via the Indianapolis Star).

Cason's allegation refers to Colts owner Jim Irsay's comment earlier this week at the NFL owners meetings that games weren't the proper venue for protests that are responsible, in part, for the league's sagging TV ratings.

Cromartie and multiple NFL players have emulated 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who started taking a knee during the national anthem to protest racism and oppression in America.

Oh Well Dude... My employer has a conduct clause. Basically for if you get stupid on a business trip and shame the brand. That is exactly what he is doing.

You have the right to Free Speech, but you have to be prepared for the economic consequences of that particular speech.

I can't believe his "wife" would even open her mouth to defend this guy.

1. According to his Wikipedia entry, he has at least 12 children by about eight different women.

2. Under one of his free agent contracts with the New York Jets about five years ago, he had to negotiate a $500,000 advance payment from the team so he could catch up on his unpaid child support payments.

3. The Jets cut him earlier this year, after his wife was involved in an incident in New Jersey where she alleged that she was pulled over by a local police officer just for being black.

If it wasn't for professional football, this guy would be living in a zoo somewhere.

One things for sure I know my husband was told Not to take a Knee and he went with his heart and he took one. And that cost him his Job ..

Well, then he's a martyr to "the cause". Sometimes when one bravely males a stand, death (in this case, his livelihood) is the result. I guess he picked the wrong hill to die on.

Cheers to Irsay (who I've never cared for) for standing up to these punks.

What’s ironic is that Jim Irsay is a foaming at the mouth libtard.

Watching your gravy train head straight down the flusher tends to sober you up in a hurry.

Firing him based on the protest is good enough for me. It should start a trend.

Actions have consequences, but if he really believes in the cause then good for him. Can’t bitch about the money then bitch.

Mr Cromagnon is apparently the genetic father of Black Lives Matter.

The NFL has hit a ratings iceberg.

For his sake, one would hope he had a good finance manager. These players are so young, come from such poor and/or dysfunctional homes, suddenly making big bucks, with NO idea how to save, spend, or invest their money. Bling isn’t an investment, neither is owning 10 ‘hot’ cars.

Many years ago we worked with the then-divorcing wife of a well-known NFL player, who had several Super Bowl rings. Back then he was making millions a year. Always broke, bouncing checks. spending more than he was making (after the agent’s cut, of course). Even long term players are maybe 35 y/o at retirement? Most are 22-25 years old.
