Faced with an overwhelming override of President Obama's veto of a 9/11 victims bill, the administration is planning to "fix" the package, caving in to Saudi Arabian pressure while outraging the families of the dead.

In a meeting with the Saudi foreign minister Thursday, Secretary of State John Kerry said that the administration plans to modify the plan that would allow 9/11 victims and families to sue the kingdom for its alleged role in the attacks on U.S. soil.

Does this mean that Republicans can “modify” Obamacare since there doesn’t appear to be any laws?

I don’t understand the point of spending time, money, and energy on this.

To my knowledge, the families were already very well compensated monetarily, and those dead can never come back.

Bin Laden is reported to already have been killed, and no one disputes it. Not publicly at least.

We have a major election coming that promises major problems in the aftermath, regardless of who wins. This is our absolute last chance to even think about saving this country.

Or maybe this is all a ruse by the NWO crowd.

If this sounds like it doesn't make any sense, it doesn't. The administration can't "fix" a law that has been duly passed by Congress and survived a presidential veto. What isn't mentioned here is that members of Congress have already indicated that THEY will work on "fixing" the law.

When this law was in the news a month or so back, some of us pointed out that it was nothing more than political theater and would never stand up over time.

This is a bunch of B.S.

We have the 28 pages now that show that Saudi were the ones that took those buildings down, finally our elected officials found the back bone to veto this bill...it stands!!!!

Barky and Kerry, go live in Saudi and leave America alone...you have done enough to ruin it...

The black “halo” on the Saudi prince kind of sets the tone.
W Leaks stating that Saudi and Qatar are the ones responsible for arming ISIL demands a strong congress begin proceedings...

Of course not. If our side tried this, we'd be "shredding the Constitution," as Nixon was accused of doing.

Only Democrats have the ability to legislate from the Oval Office.

Of course, they also have the ability to legislate from the courts. All the cabinet agencies can legislate too, as long as a Democrat is in the White House.

When Republicans hold the White House, they can't do anything without both houses of Congress agreeing, as anyone who lived through the Reagan Years can attest.

There was never any point in spending time, energy or money on this.

When Congress overrides a presidential veto by such a wide margin (99-1 in the Senate, for example), you can be sure that one or both of the following is true:

1. The law is bad for America.

2. The law is nothing more than political theater, and most members of Congress never read it before voting on it.

How big was the donation to the obama library?
Did the Saudi’s pay off Kerry’s tax bill too?

There was a video from the other day that I can’t find now. It was of some Saudis, including a prince, rushing into the WH, supposedly to talk about ISIS. Wanna bet it was about this bill.

The veto was overridden. I fail to see what authority Kerry has. (I know...) I, for one, will not comply with any laws for me that don’t apply to thee.

Yeah. Me either. All the victims families were very well compensated by the taxpayers. If anyone should get money from the Saudis it’s us.
This never made any sense to me.

Bill authored.

Sent to Obama.

Obama vetos.

Congress overrules.

Obama just reaches into the law and changes it with absolutely no authority, oversight, or ability to do it. Just makes it up out of whole cloth.

It’s no wonder Barry swept the floor with his forehead to these people. King Salman & Co. own him.
I’ve never seen an American president do anything as disgusting as that deep bow in meeting with a foreign leader.

Many years ago a Barbary state potentate was to meet with Americans in his palace over Arab piracy and kidnapping of American merchant seamen.
He arranged to make the door so small they had to enter on their hands and knees.

The brand new Americans, having just annoyed the British and not yet having a navy, resolved the matter by entering backwards and showing the sheik their ***es.

Go Trump, win win win. Keep showing them your ***.
