The one about the G20 meeting is interesting, in that it shows that from the very beginning, they do everything according to politics.
They were afraid Bush was going to invite Obama to attend the G20 meeting about the financial crisis. All they did was give Obama PR advice not to attend. It is assumed he had nothing to offer and would not contribute anything, so the only considerations they had were how it would look if he did this or that.
