Yes, it’s sad our God doesn’t approve of stoning women who were raped. He doesn’t approve of old men marrying children with ages it the single digits. He doesn’t approve of us treating our wives like cattle. He doesn’t approve of us mutilating their genitalia if we’re too insecure as men to trust them when we’re not around. He doesn’t want us to force them to live unseen by wearing clothing so they fade into a faint memory of what they used to be, to others.

Whenever I go to the local pool to swim, I often see Muslim mothers with their young daughters. The little girls get to swim, but their mothers in their long black burkas have to wait and sit there, in the hot, humid air. I often think, it’s so sad they only have a little time of freedom left.
