your point is the opposite situation of what I am talking about
if you DID do something illegal, and the cops stop you and you say “Yeah, I am a dumbass, I did it” you should not be allowed to get off because they didnt read you your miranda rights first.
Miranda rigts should be taught to everyone in school, not at the time of arrest.
But that’s NOT how most of those confessions work. Most of these confessions are coerced. It’s been shown that if you interrogate someone long enough they’ll confess just to get out of that room. In the end the situation you’re talking about only exists on TV and in your imagination.

Really police should follow procedures. Half of what Miranda does is remind THEM that there are rules to follow. If cops would stop trying to coerce confessions out of people before their lawyers get there nobody would need to be reminded of their rights.
I’m not talking about interrogations
I am talking about stuff they happen to hear while they are arresting someone
There’s no “happen to hear”, that’s interrogation.
ARE YOU DELIBERATELY TRYING TO BE STUPID?
I worked with Law enforcement. I’ve seen cases thrown out where information was gained by officers by the stupidity of the criminal himself because he ‘had not been read his rights’ yet.
In one case where a suspect was barely able to know what planet he was on, let alone understand if anything was being ‘read to him’.
Your need to shout insults show you realize your position is flawed. Heck your example actually shows why you’re wrong. Statements from a guy that out of it are NOT evidence, they’re not reliable, they shouldn’t be used in court, and the cops should have freaking known they needed to dry his ass out before talking to him AT ALL. But they didn’t. The case got thrown out because the cops were dumb and forgot there are rules. Just like I said, half of what Miranda is all about is reminding the cops that there are rules.
ok stupid... apparently cops cannot be witnesses to crimes UNLESS they have read Miranda rights to everyone they meet
Oh look insults and a strawman. You’re so cute when you’re full of crap.
1) the insults are valid, you’re being obtuse and stupid (it seems deliberately)
2) you clearly do not understand the term ‘strawman’ (probably because of #1)
Insults are never a valid argument, they’re proof you know the facts don’t back up. I’m not being obtuse, I’m pointing out that you are wrong. Yes I fully understand the term strawman and how you made up a non-existent situation to make it seem like you’re not full of crap.
