A man with a gun pulled over an AISD school bus while impersonating a police officer on Tuesday. The incident began during dismissal at Murchison Middle School, located 3700 N. Hills Dr. in West Austin. A driver reported that a man, described as white and wearing a red shirt and tan shorts, was taking photos of Murchison students as they used the crosswalk. Later Tuesday afternoon, a man with a similar description posed as a law enforcement officer and pulled over a bus that had one Anderson High School student on board. After the driver dropped off the student, the man pulled the bus over again and boarded the bus, asking about the route. The suspect wore black military style pants and an orange shirt. When the bus driver questioned what agency the man worked for, he told her DEA, later saying he worked for the CIA as well. The bus driver asked to see his credentials, at which point the man got off the bus.

Gun or no gun, I would NOT STOP THE BUS. The bus is certainly more than a match for an idiot holding a gun. Was there a police car nearby to go with the person who was SUPPOSEDLY a cop? Cops just don’t appear out of thin air and approach a school bus. NEVER, NEVER stop a school bus for anyone - not after Chowchilla, CA and Breslan...Our schools AND BUSSES are soft targets as much as shopping malls, amusement parks etc., and have little protection. I don’t think there is any security at local schools - you might have to SIGN IN after you walk in the front door. That’s what passes as security! Armed security on school grounds - forget it! Even armed parents who volunteer, forget it!
The fools running school; districts actually believe post ‘gun free zone at the schools will deter the evil!
You must not know any real cops.
What are they using for bus security cameras, potatoes?
