Time to bring back the Whig party?
The Whig party dissolved, and at that time in the 1850s, the Republicans emerged as the 2nd major party.
We have had 2 major parties for almost all of our history, but the 2 parties have not always been today’s Democrat and Republican parties.
There’s no reason why we have to keep the 2 major parties as they exist today as our major parties.
Since the Republicans don’t seem to stand for strong conservative principles, then what is the purpose of the Republican party?
Why not see the GOP dissolve, if it won’t oppose the Democrat presidents and doesn’t stand for anything?
